FIELD & MARKET CREW Groundwork Farm is seeking individuals who are motivated by an interest in local food and sustainable agriculture to join our team, for a seasonal Field Crew position! Groundwork Farm is a hand tended, intensively managed market garden. Our beautiful two acre farm provides responsibly grown veggies, fruits, and mushrooms direct to customers from our on site farm stand and from local farmers market. Field Crew members participate in many daily farm operations, including bed prep, planting, harvest, post-harvest handling, and sales. We expect our Field Crew members to approach tasks thoughtfully, embracing a team effort to achieve the farms’ goals for high quality and efficient work. You should be comfortable and able to work in a fast paced environment alongside others and independently. You must be willing to work in rainy and windy conditions (we can sit out thunder storms). One or more seasons of previous farming or gardening experience is preferred but not required. This is a full time, seasonal position with a flexible start date between early Spring and early Summer through a specific end date of November 26 (Thanksgiving week). Work days are Tuesday- Friday and would include either a saturday or sunday shift (Priority given to somebody who could work both!) A typical day is 7:30am-3:30pm EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS • No experience is required, however priority will be given to somebody with at least one season of farming / gardening experience • A consistent, swift pace of work is expected • You need to have a reliable form of transportation • You should be comfortable: working in various weather conditions • Lifting 50 pounds • Talking with the public at markets and at the farm • Farm work can be labor intensive so you should be prepared to sweat, get dirty, and sometimes lift heavy things. • You need to have appropriate work gear: Closed toe shoes, rain gear, sun protection COMPENSATION • Compensation starts at 16-18$ / hour depending on your level of skills / experience with an annual raise after your first season. • 3 compensated days off per season after the first 2 months of employment • Free Fresh Produce

MARKETING, SALES AND HARVEST ASSISTANT Groundwork Farm is seeking a seasonal, full time, market assistant to help us curate and manage our farm stand and farmers markets. Markets and sales is one of the most important jobs on and of the farm. It is our customer interface. It is where our products meet the community and where we make an impact. We are looking for someone who has an eye for detail, strong organizational skills, an engaging presence around customers, and who can easily convey a passion for our products and our farm. You would be responsible for curating and managing our on site farm stand as well as some off site farmers markets. This means imaging and executing aesthetic and functional improvements to our market displays to make them more inviting and workable for the customer to ultimately improve sales and leave positive impressions. You would work directly with customers to help them find what they need, to discuss our products and farm, and to help them check out and make sales. You would set up and break down farmers markets as needed, keep produce restocked, and tend to display details. This position would also include some on farm labor, primarily but not limited to pre-market harvest, wash and pack. Harvest is a very intensive part of the farm routine and often requires all hands on deck to meet market needs. Helping to harvest, process and pack various types of produce would be a regular part of this position. It is important for a market manager to experience both sides of the operation as they inform each other. You should be comfortable working in a fast paced, physically demanding environment in all types of weather including light rain, and sunny hot days. Full time hours begin in June when the summer market cycle begins, however some part time hours would be available starting in May. A typical week would be Tuesday-Friday and then either Saturday or Sunday (extra points if you can work both). Daily times will vary depending on market schedules as some farmers markets run until 6pm. There is the possibility for winter work helping to run winter markets. For the right person this position could grow into a management position. Experience / Skills / Requirements -Some marketing, farming or gardening experience is encouraged -Extra points for simple graphic design skills (canva) -A consistent, swift pace of work is expected -You should be self-directed and able to find things to work on when you finish tasks -You need to have a reliable form of transportation -You should be comfortable: working in various weather conditions -Lifting 40 pounds consistently -Talking with the public at markets and at the farm -Farm work can be labor intensive so you should be prepared to sweat, get dirty, and sometimes lift heavy things. -You need to have appropriate work gear: Closed toe shoes, rain gear, sun protection Compensation -Compensation starts at 18-20$ / hour depending on your level of skills/ experience with an annual raise after your first season. -5 compensated days of per season after the first 2 months of employment -Free Fresh Produce

LANDSCAPING AND FARM ASSISTANT Groundwork Farm is seeking a landscape/ gardening assistant to help work on and off site on various landscaping and fine gardening projects. Much of this position would take place helping to manage a 42 acre, river front property with a diversity of interesting landscape features including a meadow, river buffers, willow groves, cut flower and vegetable gardens, and much more. This position would also include some farm work throughout the season such as planting, bed prep, and harvesting. This person should have some experience in landscaping or fine gardening and be familiar with the type of work, movements, and tools that are required for the work. A familiarity with simple power tools such as weedwackers, chainsaws, lawnmowers, tractors etc is also an important skill. While training will be provided where needed, you should already have some skill and interest in this kind of work. You should be comfortable working with a team and independently. Attention to detail and strong communication skills are essential. For the right person, this is a wonderful opportunity to work in a stunning outdoor environment while continuing to practice the skill of fine landscape maintenance. This position is seasonal, June-October, with flexible hours (24-40/ week) depending on the person. A typical day runs from 8:30-4:30. Experience / Skills / Requirements -Some experience with landscaping or fine gardening is required.
